Geodesic Domes
A triangulated shell that stands on its own perimeter, giving you a round, column-free room with a ceiling that curves overhead instead of sitting flat.
The geometry is the point. Because a geodesic frame carries its load through the triangles of the shell, there is nothing holding the middle up, and the interior reads as one continuous curved surface. Draped, it becomes a soft ceiling that sweeps down to the floor on every side.
That shape does two things a rectangular structure cannot. It suits a room arranged in the round, where the audience faces inward rather than forward. And the continuous inner surface takes projection well, so the whole ceiling can become the content.
From the outside it reads as a landmark on an open site, which is why it tends to get used where arrival matters.
What is a geodesic dome at an event?
A geodesic dome is a self-supporting triangulated shell that gives you a round room with no columns in it. The load runs through the triangles of the shell itself, so nothing holds the middle up, and the interior reads as one continuous curved surface sweeping from the floor up and over.
What is a geodesic dome used for?
Domes suit anything that benefits from a room in the round or from an unbroken ceiling. Product launches and brand experiences, projection and immersive setups, ceremonies where the audience faces inward rather than forward, and hospitality lounges on open ground.
Can a geodesic dome be used for projection?
Yes. The continuous inner surface of the shell takes projection well, so the ceiling itself can become the content instead of a flat screen at one end of a room. It is one of the main reasons a dome gets chosen over a rectangular structure.
Can a dome be put up on bare ground?
Yes. A geodesic dome stands on its own perimeter and needs no existing building, so it can go on a lawn, a field or any prepared open site. From the outside it reads as a landmark, which is why it tends to get used where arrival matters.
Does Kature supply the dome or only dress it?
Both. The domes are company-owned, and our own crews put them up, drape them, light them and run them. There is no gap between the firm supplying the structure and the firm decorating it, because they are the same firm.
