Reception Stages

The one thing every guest looks at all evening, and the one thing that has to survive being photographed from forty feet away.

A sweeping white floral crescent arching over a pale sofa on a blue-lit arched reception stage, built by Kature Decorators

A reception stage is a sightline problem before it is a decorating problem. Guests at the back see a shape and a colour field; guests in the queue see the detail. A stage that only works at one of those distances is a stage that disappoints half the room.

So we build in layers. A strong overall form, a middle register that holds up in photographs, and detail close to the couple where people actually stand. The seating, the floor and the backdrop are treated as one composition rather than three purchases.

These are fabricated in our own workshop, which means a sculpted crescent, a tiered arch or a full floral wall is a decision about the room rather than about what happens to be available for hire that weekend.
